An enticing trade proposal has the Minnesota Timberwolves dealing their franchise star to an up-and-coming club in the Eastern Conference.

For the second straight postseason, the Timberwolves were eliminated in the first round of the postseason — falling to the eventual NBA Champion Denver Nuggets in five games.

Minnesota still hasn’t won a postseason series since 2004. Following another mediocre season in The Gopher State, one shouldn’t be surprised if the Timberwolves end up deciding to rebuild by dealing away their top player in Karl-Anthony Towns.

Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Timberwolves sending Towns to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Terry Rozier, P.J. Washington and 2026 and 2028 first-round picks, with the former being a top-three protected selection.
